Eventually the dragons, led by the sage Ourelonastrix, uncovered the Draconic Prophecy, and used its knowledge to learn the weaknesses of the fiends. In time, fiends rose up from the depths of Khyber and overran Eberron, scattering the dragons and ushering in the Age of Demons. Age of Demons Īlong with the Couatl, dragons were one of the first races in Eberron, if not the first, and one of the first mortal beings.
The legend continues to say that dragons were created by the blood of Siberys falling on Eberron, creating different types of dragons from the mingling of blood with different biomes. However, these powerful beings clashed over their creation and Khyber killed Siberys, before being defeated and imprisoned by Eberron. History Creation Myth Īccording to myth, Eberron was created by three progenitor dragons, Eberron, Siberys, and Khyber. The older the dragon the more powerful these abilities tend to be. In addition to their physical capabilities, they are also often spellcasters. They can use their teeth, claws, and tail as weapons. Abilities ĭragons are known for their breath weapons, which produce different effects based on the type of dragon. Other creatures, like wyverns are considered to have draconic blood, but not be true dragons. For instance, gold dragons tend to be stronger and more powerful than a white dragon of similar age. The color of a dragon mainly reflects the environment they prefer to live in and its power. A gold or red dragon are both equally likely to be good or evil. Ī dragon's alignment is not tied to the dragon's color. Metallic dragons tend to live longer naturally, and so the oldest and most influential dragons tend to be metallic. These dragons are considered to be part of two families: metallic dragons, consisting of brass, bronze, copper, gold, and silver dragons, and chromatic dragons, consisting of black, blue, green, red, and white dragons. There are many different subspecies of dragons, usually distinguished by scale color.
